Who we are

We build the outdoor spaces that make a Greater Victoria home better to live in: decks that become the room you actually want to be in from spring through fall, cedar and custom fences that give you privacy and shelter from the wind, and pergolas that turn a patio into an outdoor room. We do the work ourselves rather than treating building as a sideline, and our own crew is on your site from footings to the final walkthrough.

That focus matters because building on the Island is its own puzzle. Dense marine clay heaves and holds water instead of draining it, our long rainy season keeps wood damp for months, and salt air off the water is hard on fasteners and framing. A deck built for a dry climate does not hold up here. We build for local conditions, every time.

How we build for the coast

The difference between a deck that still feels solid in fifteen years and one that sags and greys out in five is mostly invisible once the boards are down. We set proper footings for our clay soil so the structure does not move with the seasons, use coastal-grade fasteners and flashing that stand up to salt air and damp, and detail every build for drainage so water sheds instead of sitting and rotting things out. It is the same approach whether we are building a raised deck, a privacy fence, or a pergola.

How we work

Every job starts with a site visit. We look at your yard, the house, how you want to use the space, and your material choices, then tell you honestly what will work and what it will cost. A deck is a considered, high-value project, so we do not hand you a flat menu price. We put the design, materials, price, and timeline in writing after the visit, so you can commit to the build with clear information and no surprises.
